Our location
5 The Offices, 10 Fleet Street,
Brighton, BN1 4ZE
By rail – We’re a quick six-minute walk from Brighton Station. Just come out of the back of the station by the pick-up/drop-off area and turn right down the steps. We recommend using the blue map in the Our location tab above rather than using the postcode to find us as the post code take may take you to the wrong side of the pedestrianised section and cause confusion.
We’ve also recorded a short video showing exactly how to get to us from Brighton Station see below…

What’s the difference between Sports Therapy and Physiotherapy?
In short, not much. This is why it’s common to confuse the two as they do share many similarities. For a more detailed idea of the differences please read this article.
We have both Sports Therapists and Physiotherapists at the clinic working in very similar ways. However, if your insurance states that you need an HCPC regulated therapist, you will need to see our Physiotherapist.
What kind of treatment should I expect?
Honestly, it is simply impossible to put what we do into words. It’s unique for everyone. Just visit us with an open mind and enjoy where the journey takes you. If you want to know more about how our treatments specifically help you, please request a call back from one of our therapists here.
Does the treatment hurt?
It can yes. But it doesn’t have to. We tailor our treatments to your specific needs.
Do I have to take my clothes off?
Yes and no. Right away, let us assure you you don’t need to take all your clothes off (and none of that weird strategically placing a towel over you to avoid embarrassment). We do need to get to your muscles so for ladies, we suggest bringing a pair of shorts or leggings and a vest top. For men, bring along a pair of loose-fitting sports shorts.
What should I wear?
For treatment, we need you in your underwear OR a pair of loose fitting sports shorts. (We do recommend dressing in more than that to travel to the clinic… but it is Brighton, so it’s up to you). Ladies, bring along leggings or shorts and a comfy vest top. That’s it.
Is there anywhere I can change?
Certainly. We have a large toilet-changing room area in the clinic accessed via our waiting area so you can change.
Can you assess my running style?
Absolutely (if you are not referring to gait analysis and the kind of running assessment usually performed by sports shoe retailers). In our opinion, this kind of assessment is limited in what it usefully tells us about the function of your body. We work with a huge number of runners, and we find our detailed assessment process allows us to uncover many issues which we can either treat or help our patients to treat. It’s not as sexy as jumping on a treadmill and having a computer spit out a bunch of data… but it does work. And that’s what really matters to us.
Will I get treated on the first session?
In a word, yes. We do take about 15-20 minutes (sometimes longer where appropriate) in the first session to sit down and talk through your history, lifestyle and assess your posture and mobility – but once that’s done we get down to it and start treating you.
How many sessions will it take?
Our primary goal at Brighton Physiotherapy & Sports Therapy is to help you get better and back doing what you want to be doing. We don’t want to see you forever (yes, it’s a terrible business model but we genuinely want people to get and stay functionally healthy). With this in mind, the answer to this question is – honestly – we don’t know. Some people can have a single session and walk out feeling great, the majority of other clients take a bit longer. At each session we’ll a clearer idea of how many sessions you need.
Will you give me exercises to do?
Most likely we’ll give you a few. But they’re unlikely to be traditional physiotherapy type exercises you may have seen before. Any exercises or stretches will be carefully considered to compliment the work we do in the sessions so you can build on the findings from the sessions to make your rehabilitation as straighforward as possible.
If I don’t do sports, can I still come to Brighton Sports Therapy?
Of course. Don’t be put off by the ‘sport’ part of our title. Our techniques are just as effective (if not more) for relieving pain in those who take a more relaxed approach to exercise.
Does it work for everyone?
We try everything in our power to make sure this is the case for everyone. And it is for the majority of people who visit our clinic. However, this is not always possible. If you find you are not seeing the results you were hoping for, let your therapist know. There are many different approaches we can use to make sure you leave feeling your best-self.
Who is the most experienced therapist?
Jamie, our clinic owner, has 18 years experience. Our Physio, Mark isn’t far behind with 16 years. Both of our therapists have seen a wide array of issues and work collaboratively to share their knowledge.
Jamie Webb
Mark Gilmore
Who is best suited to treat my condition?
Both Jamie and Mark work to the same ethos but in slightly different ways. As a sweeping generalisation Jamie does more hands on work to help you feel better to improve your movement pattern then gives you advice to keep it that way. Mark helps you feel where your movement pattern is going wrong first then uses hands on work to make it easier for you to make the change yourself.
Most people will respond well to both approaches so it doesn’t matter too much. If you have been recommended one of Jamie or Mark you might prefer to stay with that recommendation but shouldn’t make much difference. If you’re unsure please give us a call to discuss. We’ll be able to work out which of us will best suit your needs.
Find out more
You can find out more about both Jamie and Mark and their approach and experience on our physiotherapist and spots therapist page.
Can I get a job?
Not at the moment. We are not currently looking for any more Physiotherapists or Sports Therapists. But if you really like the ethos of our clinic get in touch and send us a CV with a covering emailand we’ll keep your details on record.
Do we accept placement students?
Sadly no. We are not currently able to take any placement students. If you are interested in learning more about how we work please drop us a line and we will arrange a time to give you a call.
What is your cancellation policy?
We require a minimum of 2 working days (Monday-Friday) notice for amendments or cancellations of bookings. You can receive a full refund at any time prior to two working days’ notice for any reason.
